7. What is Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) and why is it required?
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is an effective anti-hacking authentication mechanism that verifies user identity using two of the following factors: private information, personal devices, or biological features.
On October 27, 2017, the SFC issued the Guidelines on Reducing and Mitigating Hacking Risks Associated with Internet Trading, which requires the implementation of 2FA for client internet trading account login. This means verifying identity using information known to the client (e.g. login password) and a device owned by the client (e.g. mobile phone). 2FA is difficult to obtain and crack, effectively reducing the risk of hacking.
8. How does FTFT International Securities and Futures implement Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?
FTFT International Securities and Futures implements 2FA by verifying your identity using information you know (e.g. login password) and a device you own (e.g. mobile phone).
(1) Mobile Phone Security Authentication
After account opening, all FTFT International Securities and Futures users complete the binding and activation of their trading accounts, during which the account is successfully linked and verified with a mobile phone number.
If you no longer use the registered mobile number, you may change it via APP 【Settings】 – 【Change Login Mobile Number】 or contact customer service.
(2) Device Binding Authentication
You may bind frequently used devices via APP 【Settings】 – 【Device Management】. When logging in to the APP on a new device or performing a transaction, you will be required to verify your mobile phone number. Login and trading will only be allowed after successful verification.
